Money and Pensions Service Announcing relocating its head office to Bedford.
The Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) has announced today (Monday 31 October 2022) that it is relocating its head office to Bedford.
MaPS will be moving from its current location, 120 Holborn in Central London, to Bedford Borough Hall in early 2024, although a temporary space will be available in spring 2023.
The relocation is part of the Government’s Levelling Up agenda and fulfils MaPS’ commitment, made as it was established, to move outside of London and the South East.
MaPS will recruit all roles advertised from Tuesday, 1 November 2022, into Bedford. The majority of London-based staff members will be based there from early 2024.
Caroline Siarkiewicz, Chief Executive of the Money and Pensions Service, said:
"The relocation marks an important step for MaPS. We hope to retain as many of our existing colleagues as possible and attract staff from the East of England and further afield going forward. MaPS is a national organisation and we will of course maintain our important relationships.
"We’re working closely with Bedford Borough Council to develop our future office space within Borough Hall and build connections with local employers and the wider community.
"We’re confident that the move will not impact the provision of our money and pensions guidance or funded debt advice services. Our customers won’t notice any difference and the high quality of the help we provide will be maintained throughout."
Dave Hodgson, Elected Mayor of Bedford Borough, said:
"We’re delighted to have the Money and Pensions Service joining us in Bedford Borough, which will provide a range of fantastic new jobs to our residents. This represents further progress on our goal to continue bringing exciting employment opportunities to local people.
"We’ve been working closely with MaPS, who have been really clear about their desire to build great relationships with residents and businesses in the Borough.
"These high-quality jobs based in Borough Hall will mean more people in the centre of Bedford area, using and spending money in shops, restaurants and outlets in and around the town centre."
