This supporting material can be used by schools in Wales to help improve the financial education they deliver to children and young people.
Endorsed by Welsh Government, the material explores how learning about money fits into the Curriculum for Wales. It sets out the steps schools can take to improve and enhance their provision, and highlights the services and resources schools can use to support them.
The UK Strategy for Financial Wellbeing and Delivery Plan for Wales set a national goal to ensure that 90,000 more children and young people growing up in Wales receive a meaningful financial education by 2030. This guidance will support primary and secondary schools to play their part in achieving the goal.
The guidance will be of use to: school leaders and their senior teams; curriculum leads for financial education or relevant Areas of Learning and Experience; practitioners providing financial education; school governors; and school improvement services and professional learning organisations.
The guidance is available in Welsh and English, and has been published alongside additional supporting materials from the Welsh Government on the Hwb.
